Madison was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and nephrotic syndrome when she was just over a year old. Diagnoses that affect mobility and the kidneys, her days are now filled with appointments, therapies, surgeries, and doctors’ visits, which doesn’t leave much time to be a kid or spend time with family.
For 7-year-old Madison, the hardest part about living with her conditions is not being able to keep up with her brother or friends. Although she is a resilient young girl who always has a smile on her face, it does bother her that she can’t walk like her friends can and that therapy sessions often replace play dates.
Starlight Canada makes sure that no matter the obstacle, her childhood is still filled with unforgettable experiences to help put a smile on her face and hold onto hope. Being a lover of swimming, one of her family’s favourite memories with Starlight Canada was going to Great Wolf Lodge, where they splashed away all their worries for a day!
