Zoah, a 7-year-old girl who lives with embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma, found a reason to believe in magic and fairytales again during an unimaginable time for any family.
Heartbreakingly, Zoah’s second relapse with this rare form of cancer means she is now being treated as a palliative patient. As the doctors continue to manage her pain and care, Starlight Children’s Foundation Canada stopped at nothing to make her dreams come true and grant her wish of a lifetime; a trip with her family to Disney World.
With it being too dangerous to fly at a high altitude due to Zoah’s health and with travel restrictions during the pandemic, the journey did not come without obstacles. Luckily, like all true fairytales, a sprinkle of our magic dust made flying possible again with a private jet!
During their week at Disney World, Universal, and Give Kids The World Village, Zoah’s family found their home away from home. Each day was filled with smiles, new adventures, and a bit of magic around every corner. Zoah took her first-ever drive in a go-kart, rode incredible rides, made some friends along the way in Minnie Mouse, Buzz Lightyear, and Donald Duck, but most importantly, created lasting memories with her family to be cherished forever.
“Trust that Starlight will go above and beyond to make your wish the best and most memorable experience,” Zoah’s mom, Sara, shared. “We will treasure these memories always.”
Without your support, irreplaceable moments like this wouldn’t be possible for seriously ill children and their families. Donate at give.starlightcanada.org.
This wish was granted in memory of Roger Shiffman, a long-time Board Member and former Board Chairman of the organization’s global office.
